About CarbonTree
What is CarbonTree?
CarbonTree is an Indian sustainable clothing brand based in Kolkata. We make men's and women's casual wear, loungewear and activewear from innovative, lower-impact fabrics: Sorona™ blended with organic cotton, 100% organic cotton, bamboo, biodegradable polyester (EcoCiclo™), recycled nylon and recycled polyester. Our goal is to offer premium-quality sustainable clothing in India at affordable prices.
Where are CarbonTree clothes made?
Every CarbonTree garment is sourced and manufactured within India. CarbonTree is run by Carbontree Clothing (OPC) Pvt. Ltd., Kolkata.

Our fabrics
What fabrics does CarbonTree use?
- Sorona™ + organic cotton: Sorona™ is a partly plant-based fibre by DuPont that brings softness, natural stretch and shape retention. We blend it with organic cotton for our Heavyweight T-shirts and polos.
- Organic cotton: a natural fibre grown without pesticides. Soft, breathable and hypoallergenic. Our Lightweight T-shirt is 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton.
- Bamboo: light, soft and breathable. Used in our UltraSoft Bamboo tees, tops, lounge pants and lounge sets.
- Biodegradable polyester (EcoCiclo™): the performance of regular polyester, designed to decompose 100x faster in landfill conditions. Used in our Bio Active and Bio Sports activewear.
- Recycled nylon: made from pre- and post-consumer waste such as discarded fishing nets. Smooth, stretchy and strong.
- Recycled polyester: made from recycled plastic. Durable, breathable and built to move.

What is the Carbon Heavyweight T-Shirt?
Our bestselling tee, rated 4.8 out of 5 by 300+ customers. It is knitted at 220 GSM from 70% organic cotton and 30% Sorona™: a dense, structured fabric that drapes cleanly, holds its shape wash after wash with no sagging collar, and keeps its colour. It costs ₹1,000 and comes in men's sizes S to 7XL and over 20 colours.
How does the Heavyweight T-Shirt fit?
It is a straight fit: fitted through the chest and shoulders, then falls straight through the body without clinging. Sleeves sit clean on the arm. If you prefer a looser fit, size up.

What is the difference between the Heavyweight and Lightweight T-shirts?
The Heavyweight T-Shirt is 220 GSM Sorona™ and organic cotton: denser and more structured, with a straight fit. The Lightweight T-Shirt is 130 GSM, 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton: very light, breathable and pre-shrunk, made for Indian summers, with fitted sleeves and a crew neck. Both cost ₹1,000. The Lightweight comes in sizes XS to 7XL (chest 36 in to 56 in).
Which CarbonTree T-shirt is best for hot weather?
The Lightweight T-Shirt. At 130 GSM of breathable organic cotton, it is our lightest tee and is designed for Indian summers.
Does CarbonTree make polos?
Yes. The Heavyweight Polo is made from the same 220 GSM Sorona™ and organic cotton blend, with natural coconut shell buttons. It costs ₹1,500 and comes in sizes S to 7XL.
Does CarbonTree make big sizes for men?
Yes. Our Heavyweight T-Shirt, Lightweight T-Shirt and Heavyweight Polo all go up to 7XL.
Does CarbonTree make men's activewear?
Yes. The Men's Bio Sports T-Shirt is made from EcoCiclo™ biodegradable polyester (₹1,200), and our Organic Cotton Men's T-shirt is a gym tee in 100% organic cotton (₹1,200). We also make sports tanks, training shorts and joggers.
Women's clothing
What does CarbonTree make for women?
Loungewear and activewear. Our UltraSoft Bamboo range includes tees (₹1,200), V-neck tees, tops, lounge pants (₹1,600) and lounge sets. Our activewear includes leggings from ₹799 in recycled nylon and recycled polyester, cycling shorts (₹649), sports bras from ₹649, tanks, tees and matching sets.
How do the Bamboo Lounge Pants fit?
They have a relaxed straight fit with an elastic waistband and drawstrings, and are pre-shrunk.
Orders and delivery
How long does delivery take?
Within India, standard shipping takes 5 to 7 business days. International orders take 14 to 20 business days. Customised or altered pieces need 7 to 10 business days before dispatch. Tracking details are sent on WhatsApp once your order ships.
Does CarbonTree ship internationally?
Yes. International standard shipping takes 14 to 20 business days.
Does CarbonTree sell gift cards?
Yes, in values of ₹2,000, ₹5,000, ₹10,000 and ₹15,000. Gift cards cannot be returned, refunded or exchanged.
Returns and exchanges
What is CarbonTree's return policy?
Most items can be returned for a refund within 14 days of delivery; a few styles are exchange-only (see below). Items must be unworn and unused, with tags intact and in their original packaging. We collect returns from your address; a pickup charge of ₹100 (up to 500 g, usually 1 item), ₹125 (500 g to 1 kg) or ₹150 (over 1 kg) applies. Refunds are issued within 7 to 10 days of pickup, after a quality check. Read the full refund policy.
Which items are exchange-only?
These styles cannot be returned for a refund, but you can exchange them within 14 days of delivery:
- Women's activewear in recycled and biodegradable fabrics: the Carbon Comfort, Crossband, Sculpt and Utility leggings, Flared Yoga Leggings, Carbon Straight Pants, Carbon Cycling Shorts, Bio Active shorts, tanks and tees, the Cropped Active Tee, and the Racerback and U-Neck Active Bras
- The Bamboo Bra and Bamboo Tank Top
- Men's Bio Sports T-Shirts and Tanks, and the Multi-utility Joggers
- All SlowFlow × CarbonTree pieces, which are made to order
The "Shipping & Exchange" section on each product page also shows whether a style is exchange-only.
Can I exchange for a different size?
Yes. Exchanges are processed as soon as the item is picked up, subject to availability. Each item can be exchanged once.
Can I return sale items?
Items bought at a discount cannot be returned or refunded, but they can be exchanged for other sale items, subject to availability.
What if my item is damaged or wrong?
Contact us within 5 days of delivery and we will make it right.
